The Maison LONGWY Paris has started collaboration with Sandra BILOÉ, a French-Brasilian painter, to develop a new and colourful collection : Amazonia.
LONGWY Paris starts they year 2017 with a new collection, called Amazonia, that is based on the art works of Sandra Biloé, an artist whose highly colourful paintings exude the colours, symbols, images and abstract representations of her native country, Brasil.
The first pieces of this new collection, showcased at the Café de Paris in Monaco on 6th January, feature a flamboyant and subtly abstract interpretation of the Amazon region, its colours and endless river. The execution by the workshop of LONGWY Paris of a large vase and a pin tray with a unique shape aim at showcasing the full range of techniques used traditionally in Longwy to transpose on useful and decorative artefacts the colourful universe depicted by Sandra Biloé in her paintings.
The artefacts, 100% handmade in Longwy, will delight all enthusiasts of authentic Longwy enamel arts & crafts as they feature the typical and unique outlined enamel technique from Longwy, with the outline traced by hand, as well as « enamel-over », « counter-enamel », and finishes in gold, on a vase that is completed with the « cracks » that recall the age-old Longwy enameling tradition.
The launch of Amazonia also gave the Maison LONGWY Paris and Sandra Biloé the opportunity of a very nice TV report by Monaco Info, which is visible on our Facebook page @longwy1798, and below (in French only) :
The large Amazonia vase is already available on order, with a price tag of 4,680€ ; and the pin tray can be purchased for 1,180€ (all taxes and delivery included). The new Amazonia collection will soon be visible on the LONGWY Paris website in the Les Inédites collection.
