LONGWY Paris attends M&O

The traditional art of ceramics and enamel established in Longwy in 1798, is today rejuvenated with authentic and contemporary flair by LONGWY Paris, with its recent creations showcased at the Maison & Objet exhibition in Paris from 2nd to 6th September 2016.

From the well-known Fleur de Pommier (« Apple Flower ») to the Colonial Ball and Art Deco pieces, the city of Longwy has long created trends and enjoyed widespread appeal with magnificent works of art in enamel and ceramics that fascinate audiences and are still highly recognised amongst connoisseurs of fine art and collectors today. The house of LONGWY Paris rekindles the creative passion that led to such fame by combining tradition with modernity so as to breathe fresh air into a unique art form.

Established artists, craftsmen and designers altogether conceive new motifs, original shapes and designs, aiming to push forward technical possibilities and artistic creation, with excellence at heart. Such philosophy requires modern foresight, combined with the use of traditional, sometimes forgotten, techniques and know-how that are given a new life.

The outcome is a range of collections that rejuvenate an old art form to make it at once most contemporary, with unique, luxurious and modern flair. The Récollets range transforms historical shapes and designs with new shades, coloured rings (« trait de cerne ») and simpler lines. The Divines range, as the ultimate luxury collection, challenges technical limits and pushes the boundaries of refinement. The Inédites (« Unprecedented ») range offers trendier, novelty pieces with strong artistic inclination off the beaten track, whilst the Particulières («Singular ») range are limited editions that are destined to become collector’s items. Last but not least, Art Gallery is a space dedicated to renowned artists interested in having their artistic discourse magnified with Longwy ceramics and enamel works of art.

Because LONGWY Paris’ rules of engagement include authenticity, with each piece handmade, numbered and signed by the artisan who executed it with due respect to traditional techniques, exceptional work also bears the « Poinçon Longwy » (Seal) whenever the ten criteria that define LONGWY Paris’ chart of excellence are fulfilled. In addition to the promotion of heritage that aims at raising further the value and celebrate the know-how of artisans who have worked tirelessly in Longwy since 1798, the House of LONGWY Paris offers private individuals and professionals its expertise and services to personalise art works, create unique presents and Presentational Gifts, imagine their own Private Label, develop their own collections, value and restore ancient pieces…

The House of LONGWY Paris is delighted to showcase its new collections during the Maison & Objet exhibition in Paris (Scènes d’Intérieur, Hall 7, Stand F84) from 2nd to 6th September 2016, and to launch on this occasion its new website, dedicated to its brand, its creations and the exceptional heritage of the art of ceramics and enamel from Longwy.
