LONGWY Paris is Flower Power

Flower Power 1967-2017 revisité par Guive Khosravi

LONGWY Paris missioned Guive Khosravi to reinvent the Flower Power concept in ceramics and enameling from Longwy. The stunning contemporary creations that resulted from this collaboration will be on display at « Maison & Objet » in Paris, with the Artist also on site.

Faithful to its mission to protect and renew the unique ancient arts & craft of enamel on ceramics from Longwy, the Maison LONGWY Paris missioned renowned ceramist and artist Guive Khosravi to design a contemporary version of the iconic Flower Power theme that celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2017. The result comes in many powerful and surprising allegories combined in the unique « We are Flower Power » mural on earthenware tiles, and broken down into a variety of designs within the Les Inédites collection of the Maison LONGWY Paris.

« I loved the idea, and was soon inspired by the Flower Power theme to the point that I fully immersed into it. Life is a constant recommencement ; we see parallels between the Sixties and our times, but also many opposite directions. Between hope and disillusionment, I wanted to build a dialogue that combines the graphical codes of a bygone era with contemporary twists, and many levels of interpretation. To each his own, but let’s all be Flower Power ! » Highly symbolical of the creativity and modernism of the Maison LONGWY Paris, whilst giving due credit to excellence and tradition that are also the pillars of the Maison, these original creations in enameled ceramics will premiere at « Maison & Objet » in Paris from 2nd to 6th September 2016 (Hall 7, booth F84, Scènes d’Intérieur gallery). This will be a unique opportunity to discover the original work of art and the first designs that result from it on LONGWY Paris pieces. In addition, the artist will also undertake a live performance on LONGWY Paris’ booth during the show.
